The Centrul de Interes in Cluj-Napoca is pleased to announce the major exhibition Another World Is Possible, which will open on September 27, 2024, at 6:30 PM, curated by Antonello Tolve, with works by Ioana Antoniu, Gregorio Botta, Marco Cingolani, Sabine Delafon, Ulrich Egger, Adriana Elian, Dana Fabini, Chulumanco Feni, Emanuela Fiorelli, Isotta Giannetta, Deborah Napolitano, Milica Jankovic, Justus Kyalo, Ovidiu Leuce, H.H. Lim, Pierpaolo Lista, Sebastián Llovera, Luca Moscariello, Beatrice Pediconi, Eugenia Pop, Radu Pulbere, Enrico Pulsoni, Paolo Radi, Fiorella Rizzo, Navid Azimi Sajadi, Naoya Takahara, Giovanni Termini, Adrian Tranquilli, Alessandro Turoni, Ciro Vitale, Narda Zapata and Mary Zygouri.
Drawing on the expression associated with political and social movements that, since the first decade of this century, have challenged global neoliberalism by proposing more just and sustainable alternatives—while also engaging with the broad theoretical discourse that has, in recent years, turned this phrase into a symbol of hope and struggle for a different, more equitable and inclusive future—Another World Is Possible is an exhibition circuit that highlights a collection of works capable of dipping a pen into the darkness of the present, reigniting proximity to the issues of our time. This body of works maintains a distinctive relationship with our present moment, while simultaneously stepping away from it—almost as though we are “arriving on time for an appointment that we can,” and must necessarily, “just miss.”
Understood as expectation, anticipation, aspiration, hope, and ultimately as a perspective in which the future is no longer sabotaged by theoretical frameworks that define its end, Another World Is Possible is not only an exhibition but also, and above all, a celebration that brings to the forefront the sovereign ideal of knowledge (the sovereign and coherent development of knowledge), understood as the ultimate goal of humanity in achieving the equal dignity of all individuals—where a “Notre Monde” is indeed possible.
